How to Set Up Your Stripe Account

Follow this step-by-step guide to connect your bank account so Kelly can pay you directly after the sale — no checks, no waiting.

What you'll need before you start

  • Your Kelly's Kids consignor account login
  • A mobile phone for SMS verification
  • Your Social Security Number (last 4 digits, or full SSN for larger payouts)
  • Your bank account routing and account numbers (or online banking login for instant setup)
  • About 5 minutes of uninterrupted time

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1

Sign In to Your Consignor Account

Before you can set up Stripe, you need to be logged in to your Kelly's Kids consignor account. If you don't have one yet, sign up for free first.

  • Click the green "Consignor Login" button at the top of any page
  • Sign in with your email and password
  • If you're new, click "Sign Up Free" to create your free consignor account first
  • Once logged in, go to your Dashboard
Tip: Use the same email address you plan to use for receiving payout notifications.
Step 2

Go to "Connect Bank Account"

From your consignor Dashboard, find the bank account setup card and click the button to begin the Stripe onboarding process.

  • Go to your Dashboard after logging in
  • Look for the "Set Up Bank Account" card
  • Click "Connect My Bank Account" to start
  • You will be redirected to Stripe's secure setup form

Step 3

Enter Your Email on Stripe

Stripe will open a secure setup form. Start by entering your email address. This is the email Stripe will use to send you payout confirmations.

  • Enter your email address in the Stripe form
  • If you already have a Stripe account, Stripe will recognize your email
  • If you're new to Stripe, you'll create a new account automatically — no separate sign-up needed
  • Click Continue to proceed
Tip: You do NOT need to create a Stripe account separately. The form creates one for you as part of this process.
Step 4

Verify Your Phone Number

Stripe will send a verification code to your phone number to confirm your identity. This is a standard security step.

  • Enter your mobile phone number
  • Stripe will send a 6-digit SMS code
  • Enter the code in the form to verify
  • This step protects your account from unauthorized access
Tip: Make sure to use a phone number you have access to — you may need it to log in to Stripe in the future.
Step 5

Enter Your Personal Information

Stripe is required by law to verify the identity of anyone receiving payments. You'll need to provide some basic personal details.

  • Full legal name (as it appears on your ID)
  • Date of birth
  • Home address
  • Last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN)
  • This information is encrypted and never shared with Kelly's Kids
Tip: Stripe uses this information only for identity verification as required by US financial regulations (KYC). It is stored securely by Stripe.
Step 6

Connect Your Bank Account

This is where you tell Stripe where to send your earnings. You can connect using your online banking login (instant) or by entering your routing and account numbers manually.

  • Option A — Instant: Search for your bank and log in with your online banking credentials (fastest, most common)
  • Option B — Manual: Enter your bank routing number and checking account number
  • Use a checking account, not a savings account, for fastest deposits
  • Your full account number is never visible to Kelly's Kids
Tip: The instant bank connection option (Plaid) is the easiest. Just search for your bank name and log in — it takes under a minute.
Step 7

Review and Submit

Before finishing, Stripe will show you a summary of everything you've entered. Review it carefully and click Submit to complete your setup.

  • Double-check your bank account details
  • Confirm your personal information is correct
  • Click "Submit" or "Agree and Submit" to finalize
  • You'll be redirected back to Kelly's Kids website automatically
Tip: If anything looks wrong, use the back button in the Stripe form to correct it before submitting.
Step 8

You're Done — Wait for Payout!

Once your setup is complete, your bank account status on the Dashboard will show "Active." After the sale, Kelly will process payouts and your earnings will arrive within 2 business days.

  • Your Dashboard will show a green "Active" badge
  • You'll receive an email from Stripe confirming your account is ready
  • After the sale closes, Kelly will send your payout
  • Funds arrive in your bank account within 1-2 business days
  • You'll receive an email notification when the transfer is sent
Tip: You only need to set this up once. Your bank account stays connected for future sales too!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to enter my SSN and bank details?

Yes. Stripe is one of the most trusted payment platforms in the world, used by millions of businesses. Your information is encrypted with bank-level security. Kelly's Kids never sees your SSN or full bank account number.

Do I need to create a separate Stripe account?

No. The Stripe setup form creates a connected account for you automatically. You don't need to visit stripe.com or sign up separately.

What if I already have a Stripe account?

If you have an existing Stripe account with the same email, Stripe may recognize it. You can use your existing account or create a new one — either works fine.

What type of bank account should I use?

Use a personal checking account for the fastest deposits. Savings accounts work too but may have transfer restrictions. Business accounts are also accepted.

When will I receive my payout?

Kelly will process payouts after the sale settles (typically within a few days after the sale ends). Once sent, funds arrive in your bank account within 1-2 business days.
